This Privacy Policy describes how SipSmrt LLC ("SipSmrt," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the SipSmrt mobile application (the "App"), the SmrtBoot smart bottle sensor, and www.sipsmrt.com (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create a SipSmrt account, we collect your name and email address. You may sign in using a traditional email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In, in which case we receive the name and email address associated with that account as authorized by you.
Profile Information
You may optionally upload a profile picture from your photo library or camera. You may also provide biometric-adjacent profile details you enter yourself, such as height, weight, birth date, gender, and activity level, which we use to calculate personalized hydration and nutrition goals.
Hydration & Nutrition Data
The Service allows you to log fluid intake, meals, and beverages. This may include manually entered amounts, saved favorites, and information retrieved from a public, third-party food database (Open Food Facts) when you scan a product barcode. We store this data to power your hydration dashboard, streaks, and history.
SmrtBoot Sensor Data
If you pair a SmrtBoot smart bottle sensor with the App via Bluetooth, we collect data transmitted by the sensor — such as pour and sip events, timestamps, and device identifiers — in order to automatically track your hydration.
Location Data (Optional)
Location Services are off by default. If you choose to enable them in Preferences, we collect your device's location to support location-aware features. You can disable location access at any time in the App's Preferences or in your device's system settings.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, we collect a device push token used solely to deliver hydration reminders and related alerts you've opted into. You can disable notifications at any time in Preferences or your device settings.
Social & Leaderboard Data
If you opt in to "Share Progress" or participate in leaderboards, your display name and hydration statistics may be visible to other users of the Service.
Device & Usage Data
We automatically collect limited technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and diagnostic/crash data to maintain and improve the Service.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To provide core features: hydration tracking, nutrition logging, reminders, and streaks.
- To personalize daily hydration and nutrition goals based on the profile details you provide.
- To operate optional social features, such as leaderboards, if you opt in.
- To send you notifications and reminders you have enabled.
- To maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service.
- To diagnose technical issues and improve the App's performance.
- To communicate with you about your account or respond to support requests.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use Supabase to host our database and manage authentication. Supabase processes data on our behalf and is bound by its own security and privacy obligations.
- Sign-In Providers: If you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, those providers process your authentication according to their own privacy policies.
- Barcode Lookups: When you scan a product barcode, the barcode number is sent to the Open Food Facts public API to retrieve nutrition information. No personal account information is shared in this request.
- Other Users: If you opt in to social or leaderboard features, your display name and stats may be visible to other SipSmrt users.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal process, protect our rights, or protect the safety of our users or the public.
- Business Transfers: If SipSmrt is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a managed Supabase (PostgreSQL) database with encryption in transit. On your device, certain data — such as authentication tokens — is stored securely using your device's secure storage APIs. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices & Rights
- Access & Update: You can review and update your profile information at any time from within the App.
- Permissions: You can enable or disable location and notification permissions at any time in Preferences or your device settings.
- Account & Data Deletion: To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, email us at admin@sipsmrt.com from your registered email address. We will process your request within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain information to comply with legal obligations.
- Logout: You can sign out of your account at any time from the Profile tab.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data, except where retention is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at admin@sipsmrt.com and we will take steps to delete that information.
International Users
SipSmrt LLC is based in the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you acknowledge that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
